goin' bananas

everyone who visits Tagaytay would surely come home with a number of pineapples, buko (coconut) pies and that big bunches of mini bananas.

The morning after my brother went on an impromptu trip to Tagaytay with his friends we woke up to find pineapples and bananas in the kitchen. For a couple of days we enjoyed fresh fruits in the morning and pretty much the whole day. By the end of the week though the bananas we getting a tad to ripe and after a trip to a Chocolate making supplies store I decided to dip the bananas in melted chocolate and freeze it to dress it up for dessert!!!

Frozen Chocolate Bananas
Ingredients:
- bananas
- melting chocolate
- shortening
- sprinkles

How to:
- melt chocolate as per package directions
- dip bananas in melted chocolate
- place in wax paper until chocolate firms up
- decorate with sprinkles of your choice and freeze

fruity chocolate goodness!

Boba pearl milk tea drinks have been the trend for quite sometime now. pudding new life to stale bread!

In this time where there can be shortage of food supplies, we can not afford for anything to go to waste - which is the norm in our household in any case. Today while checking out our ref I found 2 left over buns from last week's lunch. They were stale and hard but do not have any molds - I did not want to throw them out so I rummaged through the pantry for any other leftover stuff I could use to make bread pudding. I found a couple of merengue - I did not know of any recipe for bread pudding using merengue but what the heck, I will just throw it in there too instead of throwing it out...
